Classic Grandmother Gifts

Merry belated Christmas to everyone! Santa brought me lots of goodies. I got some clothes and an amazon kindle with a Lilly Pulizter skin, glitter flats, fashion books, and then I went and bought the new ipod touch today at the mall (which was absolutely packed). But the thing I alwasy look forward to each year are the presents that my grandma gives me. She's a major bargain shopper, to say the least. She loves that feeling of buying clothes that she thinks are "gorgeous" for such a low price. She shops at thrift stores to find my brothers suits and ties (she gave them each 4 ties that cost only 25 cents each).

When she gave me this blue cat jacket, it had to be the ugliest thing that she's ever bought for me. Not only is the shade of blue awful, but it's also made of 100% silk, and has white, asian looking cats all over it, with their tongues sticking out. Need I say more? Thankfully, the card contained $100 cash and a lotto ticket, which made up for her extreme lack of taste.

Favorites From Lookbook.nu

Street style never ceases to amaze me. I love seeing people other than celebrities trying new styles and making new trends. Even though they aren't as recognized as those that walk the red carpet, that's no reason to set them to the side. The website lookbook.nu does a good job letting people post pictures of themselves up to share with people around the world. I look at the site almost everyday, picking through likes and dislikes. Here's just a few of my favorites. What are yours?

Daring or Dreadful: Christmas Spirit

With Christmas time near, I see people everyday showing their Christmas spirit...in their clothing choices that is. With Christmas sweaters, cardigans, jackets, or pretty much anything, people can quickly cross the line from festive to absolutely tacky. Even famous designer brands are partaking in this December crime.

h² says: Christmas spirit can be appropriate as long as it's subtle. Don't go crazy with red and green combos and try to stay away from the childish jewelry and hair pieces. And at all costs...avoid the "classic" Christmas sweater. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones with red and green everywhere...and even flashing little lights. If you aren't sure if what you're about to wear will send you to the worst dressed list, then don't wear it.

What's your take on wearable Christmas spirit? Daring or Dreadful?

Acceptable Christmas Attire:

Charity Shop Jumper, Carboot Sale Jewlers Necklace, Primark Scarf, Primark Karki Jeans

WWIB: Who Wore It Best

Paris Hilton Paris Hilton arrives for the 2010 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at the Lexington Avenue Armory on November 10, 2010 in New York City.
Paris Hilton wore this Louis Vuitton dress to the 2010 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on November 10th...but Zoe Saldana was spotted at the amfAR New York Gala wearing the same dress eight months earlier on February 10th! Who do you think wore it better?

h² says: Zoe Saldana! I love her shoes. The texture and pattern of the Jimmy Choos match the dress almost perfectly!

Leggings are NOT Pants

Something I've been seeing around lately because of the cold weather are girls wearing leggings as pants. I think it's completely acceptable if you're wearing a tunic or long shirt that covers your butt. If the shirt doesn't cover though, it's a definite no-no. You're pretty much just asking for camel toe...no one wants to see that. They aren't that flattering for anyone's bodies either. Jeggings are about as close to legging pants as you're going to get. Just say no.

Kim Kardashian's shirt is too short, but Lauren Conrad hits the target.
