Project Runway Finale: Season 9

I'm a huge fan of Project Runway, and the finale for season 9 was this past Thursday. Instead of the usual three final contestants, four finalists showed their 10 piece collections at New York's Fashion Week. Each of the designers, Kimberly Goldson, Viktor Luna, Anya Ayoung-Chee, and Joshua McKinley, had their own different styles. In my opinion, the designers were pretty evenly matched. They're weren't any collections that I thought were amazing, but each collection had a select few looks that I loved.

In the end, Anya won the competition with her loud, but beautiful, patterns and island style that was inspired by her roots and home in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Despite the doubts of the judges and contestants due to Anya's inexperience with sewing and fashion design, she proved that she's a quick learner and isn't afraid of a challenge. Who were your favorite designers from this season, and who do you think should have won?

Here's some photos from each of the designers' collections. To see their full collections, click here.

Anya Ayoung-Chee (Winner)

Joshua McKinley

Kimberly Goldson

Viktor Luna

My favorite look out of all the collections. From: Viktor's collection...I want this whole outfit, but especially that jacket. It's amazing!

P.S. I changed my blog layout. Give me some feedback! Negative or positive...I would love to hear it :)

One Year Anniversary!

Yayyy! So it's officially been one year since h² fashion first started and I wrote my very first blog post, and I can't believe it! Since then, I've had over 60 posts, about 200 followers, 2 blogger awards, and almost 18,000 page views, and I'm still growing!
Since a year has passed, I'm thinking about changing the look of my blog a bit. I would love to hear any feedback (negative or positive) about what you think would look good. Same goes for my posts - what were your favorites or least favorites from the last year or what other types of things would you like to see me write about? Other than that, I feel like it's been a pretty successful year, and I plan to make the next one even better! :)

Here's some of my favorite posts from the past year!

1. Leggings are NOT Pants - Definitely my favorite post because it's always relevant! This is my number 1 fashion rule!

2. Lauren Conrad & Khloe Kardashian: Hair Dye and WWIB - Two of my favorite celebrities in one post! What could be better :)

3. Help Me Find a Hairstyle - A personal post before I cut 9 inches off this summer. (I still want to dye my tips like Lauren Conrad did before the next time I cut my hair)

And as always, please don't forget to stay in touch!

Daring or Dreadful: Cat Fashion!

I am quite the animal lover, and cats are possibly my favorite animal. Whether they're cute and tiny kittens of fat Garfield characters, they always make me either say "Aww," or laugh out loud. If I'm in a bad mood and you want to make me laugh, show me a picture of a funny cat. That being said, I've recently noticed that cats are making their way onto the fashion scene. I'm not talking animal prints though. I'm talking cartoon cat sweaters, cat outlines, and figures...and I'm kind of loving it.
I bought myself a fun cartoon cat sweater recently from Forever 21; I just couldn't pass it up! But apparently I'm not the only one in love. Check out these pieces from Forever 21 and ASOS and some looks from Lookbook.nu. Are you into cats too?

Things I Love: Colored Lace and Sheer Pieces

I've always loved lacy shirts, but since fall is in the air, dyed lace has been hitting the shelves everywhere - and I couldn't be happier! Lace definitely isn't just for winter, with dark colors like black, gray, burnt orange, colbalt blue, and violet lace is completely appropriate for fall and winter. The same goes for a sheer blouse!
Since I live in Florida, it's basically summer all year round, so a simple lace or sheer top with shorts is completely appropriate. Lacy dresses and shorts are great too! Wear a sheer blouse with a leather jacket to make the look edgy yet girly, and the same goes for lace! Adding one of these pieces to any outfit will definitely add a whimsical and girly touch. These pieces are completely affordable and can be easily found. I can't get enough of these two trends! What are your favorite looks for fall?

Check out VivaLuxury's post. She knows how to work a sheer dress!

I went shopping yesterday and dropped $100 at Forever 21. Here's some of my buys :)
