Celebrities Who Ditched Their Long Locks for a Chic Cut

Recently, Lauren Conrad ditched her gorgeously long mermaid hair for a cute and chic texturized bob. I was shocked to see that she made the cut, but of course, can Lauren Conrad really do any wrong? I think not. I may be a little biased considering that she's basically my idol, but the proof is in the pictures - she's just down right flawless.

She actually had her hair cut 4 times until she got to the right length. Lauren said that he long locks have acted as a security blanket for her for many years past, which I can definitely relate to.

I've emulated her hair trends a few times, from her effortlessly soft curls to her dyed pastel tips - yes I had pastel tips for a few weeks (and actually loved it), but there's no way I could pull off a bob like her. My hair is much too thick. I've been there in grade school, and boy was that a mistake.

Also loving her outfit from this recent Who What Wear shoot.

Of course not everyone can pull of the chop as flawlessly as Mrs. Conrad - or should I say Mrs. Tell! Here's a few other celebs who took the daring cut, but in my opinion, some should have stuck with their long longs as opposed to the short do's.

Better Short

Emma Stone
Taylor Swift

Better Long

Kaley Cuoco
Anne Hathaway
Jennifer Lawrence
Shailene Woodley

Can Rock Long or Short

Hayden Panettiere
Emma Roberts

Miley Cyrus

Julianne Hough

Who do you think can pull of the short cut? Have you ever made a drastic cut like these celebrities?

Academy Awards 2012 Red Carpet Flop

The 2012 Academy Award's red carpet was a complete disappointment. Sure, there were a few gowns that were stunning, but the  majority looked lack-luster and inappropriate. I get that starlets want to be daring with their wardrobes, but some of these ladies have more than one offense. Keep reading to find out my opinions.

Maria Menounos, Guiliana Rancic, Octavia Spencer

Unfortunately, these were the only ladies who received my seal of approval. I loved the flowiness and color of Maria's gown, and the cut-out sides to have a sexy and revealing back were the perfect touches to make the dress unique. Guiliana always looks stunning, and tonight was no different. The dress fit her like a glove, there was just enough sparkle, and the detailing was exquisite. Finally, Octavia (winner of best supporting actress) looked classy and chic in her silver sequin embellished gown.

Shailene Woodley, Emma Stone, Gwyenth Paltrow

Unnecessary Additions. These ladies could have made themselves and their dresses look a lot better if they just didn't make the extra additions. Shailene is too young to be wearing sleeves like that. The gown makes her look too mature, and even a little dowdy. Emma can definitely loose that large bow, and it wouldn't hurt to take that cape/sleeve combo away from Gwyenth's dress.

Missi Pyle, Sherri Shepherd, Virginia Madsen

Bright hues and blues. Don't get me wrong, I love a good pop of color, but the combination of these colors and the shapes of dresses were a dreadful duo. Missi one shoulder accent looked awkward, as did the bottom half of her dress. Sherri looked bad all around. The shape of that dress did nothing for her body structure and there was too much going on at the top with the cleavage combined with the details. Finally, Virgina's gown looked stiff and the color was a bit bright for her.

Anna Faris, Jane Seymour, Melissa Leo

Sparkling Messes. Sequins are a huge trend right now, but these ladies proved that sequins can go very, very wrong. Anna is usually such a fun girl, but this dress totally tore her down. The all-over sequins looked tacky and the sleeves didn't make it any better. Jane's red sequin gown didn't seem appropriate for an awards show red carpet, and Melissa's two-toned dress looked horrific, but the worst part had to be the top.

Last, and apparently not least, was Angelina Jolie showing off a little leg in Versace. I've never been the biggest fan of Angelina, but everyone seems to just adore her. Her dress wasn't so bad, but the way she kept on posing with her ghostly pale leg sticking out like that made me cringe. Every pose - literally, every pose - looked like this. Definitely not a fan.
Do you disagree? Or were you disappointed with the red carpet gowns too?

MTV Movie Awards 2011

I always love the red carpet of the MTV Movie Awards because the wardrobe choices are much more relaxed. Leave the ground-grazing gowns at home and slip on a mini cocktail dress. There were plenty of looks to love this year from a two piece set worn by Mila Kunis to the sexy swagger of Ryan Reynolds. Designers Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana were scattered all around the red carpet too, and I'm not complaining. Who were your favorites?

Selena Gomez was definitely one of my favorites from the night. She strutted the red carpet in an outfit by designer Giambattista Valli, and her hair and makeup complimented the outfit perfectly. Best dressed in my opinion.

Close runner-ups for best dressed were Emma Stone (in Bottega Veneta), Kristen Stewart, and Mila Kunis (both in Balmain). I loved Kristen's choice. The embellishments of the safety pins made it edgy and cool, and Emma looked amazing as always.

Dolce & Gabbana was all over the red carpet this year, modeled on Elle Fanning, Taylor Lautner, and Rosie Huntington. I loved Elle's innocent romper, and Rosie's feirce patterned dress...and what's not to love about Taylor.

More to love! Justin Bieber looked amazing wearing my favorite color, cobalt blue. Leighton Meester (also in Balmain) looked great in her silvery eye-catching dress. As for Ryan Reynolds, he could have showed up in a t-shirt and jeans and still looked jaw-dropping.

I was not a fan of Brooklyn Decker (in No. 21), Jessica Szohr (in Alice + Olivia) or Bryce Dallas Howard's red carpet choices. I was shocked to see Jessica in the paisley jumpsuit. I usually love everything from Alice + Olivia, but she just can't pull of that pattern.
