Winter Wonderland of Coats

With the winter season just around the corner, some serious winter coat shopping needs to be done. There's so many different kinds of shapes, colors and patterns. Don't be afraid this winter to go with something daring that maybe you wouldn't normally try, like a fuschia or teal. Or if you like to play it safe, brighten up a black coat with a bright scarf or gloves. And be sure to buy the right coat for your body type! These tips will help you chose while looking through the racks of wool, cotton, and cashmere and give you a cheap alternative to this season's hottest designer looks. Bundle up!

Petite
Try to find a coat that isn’t too long. Length will make you look like your coat is swallowing you, and that’s just not good. Aim for a length that falls just below your butt. Don’t be afraid to add some color or accent with a cute scarf!

3.      Buttoned Textured Jacket: $54.99; Macy’s (also available in blue)
Tall

Since we know you’ve got killer legs, why not show them off? Look for a shorter coat that will show off just how long your legs are. It should stop right at the hips. Don’t be afraid to play with some new shapes like this one from Forever.

Big Busted

Since you’ve had summer and fall to show off what your mama gave ya, winter is the perfect time to focus on something else, like your legs! Shop for a coat that buttons high at the neck and that isn’t too long. Wear with a pair of skinny jeans and heels and your legs with look miles long.

Curvy

It’s hard to show off your womanly curves under a winter coat, but by picking a coat that ties right below the bust, you can accentuate your tiny waist. Also look for a coat that’s a little bit longer and hits right above the knee. Patterns are always fun to play with too!

"Sparks Fly" for Speak Now

Taylor Swift's new album Speak Now, released this past Monday, is five star worthy. With a mix a fun songs that you just want to sing along to, and an equal amount of slow, heartfelt songs, Swift's new album is personal in all the right ways. Just like her two previous albums, she dedicates a majority of the songs to boys she's had relationships with. One specifically, "Dear John," completely calls out John Mayer. That girl's got some courage to be doing that. The songs are relatable and catchy. Another song "Never Grow Up" hits home for me. It's something that my Dad used to always tell me, and I cried the first time I heard it. If you haven't checked out this new album yet, I would definitely recommend doing so. She's only 20 years old and already has so much material for lyrics. I look forward to seeing multiple more albums from this talented artist.

Things I Love: Shimmering Stiletto Pumps

These gold showstopping Steve Madden pumps are sure to turn heads. Pictured above are singer Paula DeAnda and actress Brittany Snow, both posing in their own pair of Caryssags. I personally just bought myself a pair. They're definitely worth the money. Plus, Steve Madden makes a size 11 for all you ladies who have trouble finding shoes in your size. Order them online or buy them in a department store, but hurry, they're flying off shelves everywhere.
