Merry Christmas To Me!

I've been in Big Sky, Montana with my family and some friends since Sunday, snowboarding and dying in this freezing cold weather! I'm definitely a Florida girl, that's for sure. Since we'll be flying home tomorrow, on Christmas day, we gave our Christmas gifts early this year. Our main gift was this vacation to Montana, and my mom decided to just let me pick out my Christmas gifts this year.

That being said....I got near perfect brown butter boots that I've been searching for for two years now (check out my previous post about them here)! I finally found them at Nordstrom Rack and I was so happy! And my second gift was a gold chrome Michael Kors tote! I found it on major sale at TJMaxx. It's my first Michael Kors purse, but hopefully the first of many to come!

What did Santa bring you this year? I would love to know! Hope everyone has an amazing Christmas this year :)

Red Carpet Looks I Love

Here's three recent red carpet looks that I absolutely love! Do you agree?

Taylor Swift. Pictured at the Nashville Symphony Ball. As if Taylor Swift could look bad, I really don't know if I've seen a bad outfit on her yet!

Miley Cyrus. On the CNN Heroes red carpet wearing Roberto Cavalli with the amazingly gorgeous, Liam Hemsworth. I'm usually not a Miley fan, but this dress is sexy and stunning, and I love her hair and makeup too. She finally got it right!

Brooklyn Decker. Pictured at the Spike TV Video Game Awards wearing a Nha Khanh dress. I love the lacy dress, but the highlighter yellow pumps definitely give it a great pop of color!

America's Next Top Model, Cycle 17: Michael Cinco

America's Next Top Model Cycle 17 just ended last week, and part of the last two episodes, the final four contestants filmed a short movie for Tyra Banks' new book, Modelland, and I couldn't help but notice how amazingly gorgeous the yellow gowns that they wore were! Those beauties were designed by Michael Cinco, an amazing designer, especially for wedding gowns. He also designed the three dresses that the ladies wore in the runway show on the finale. Allison's yellow dress was my favorite, but Angelea's was a close runner-up.

As for the Allstar season itself, I always loved Laura. Although she wasn't too high fashion, fans fell in love with her bubbly and girly personality. She got eliminated the second to last episode, and three finalists remained: Allison, Lisa, and Angelea. After the runway show and Covergirl shoot, the ladies were brought to the elimination room, but Angelea was missing. Apparently, Angelea had actually won the competition, but had posted something on Facebook about her winning, which was against her contract, which disqualified her from the competition Therefore, they had to do a re-elimination, where they announced Lisa as the winner.

Did you see this season on ANTM? Who were your favorites, and who do you think should have won?

Brown Butter Boots

Every winter I'm on the hunt for the perfect brown butter boots. I still have yet to find the perfect match, so I still don't have any brown boots. They're always too high, too short, too dark, too light, or have too high of a heel! I know I sound picky, but ever since I saw these Chloe riding boots on Lauren Conrad, I've been looking for an affordable look-a-like, but I starting to lose hope! I won't give in and buy brown boots until I find the closest match I can to these beauties.

Has anyone seen any look-a-likes? Please tell me, I'm dying here!

Designer Highlight: Kurt Geiger

I've recently come across an amazing designer that I had never heard of. I stumbled upon Rheanne's blog and saw her post about Kurt Geiger and fell in love with his shoes and accessories. The bright clutches and sky-high, chunky wedges (pictured below) were what caught my eye. He's a London based designer whose start dates back to 1963. He's got so many great pieces that I love, it's hard to choose just one. His website contains over 1,500 shoes that you can order online! Check out his collection for yourself. Here's a [somewhat] short list of things that I've added to my infamously long wish-list.

Vogue's Best Dressed Edition

Virginie, Jenna, Prisca & Claire Courtin-Clarins

Vogue magazine recently came out with their special edition "Vogue Best Dressed" issue. Each glossy page is filled with glamorous socialites and celebrities, dressed head to toe in fabulous ensembles. The issue contains  recaps of the top trends, rising starlets, the best-dressed sisters, and of course, the royal wedding. I had never realized how many fashionable sisters there were! Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Beyonce and Solange Knowles, Dakota and Elle Fanning, and Kate and Pippa Middleton just to name a few.

Although all of these ladies are stunning, Virgine, Jenna, Prisca, and Clair Courtin-Clarins popped out of the pages. Their striking features and mile-long legs are only accessories for their immaculate style. Although they aren't all sisters (Virginie and Claire are sisters, while Jenna and Prisca are their twin cousins), style definitely runs in the family blood. They are no doubt my favorites from the issue.

If you haven't gotten your issue yet, it's a great buy for some fashion inspiration and eye candy. Have you read Vogue's Best Dressed? Who are your favorites?

Absolutely in love with Prisca's dress in the second picture!

Glitz & Glamour

Sequins and metallics are definitely popular trends for the fall and winter and the red carpet of the 2011 American Music Awards on Sunday was filled with sparkling ensembles. Taylor Swift was my absolute favorite from the red carpet wearing Reem Acra. Her full sequin dress was dazzling! It's a trend that I've always loved, and it looks like it's going to be around for a while.

Who doesn't love a little sparkle? I'm absolutely loving the glitz, so for my semi-formal event for my sorority this past weekend, I went with a short mini sequin dress from Forever 21 with my Steve Madden glitter heels.

With this trend at an all-time high, you can find the perfect dress or outfit for all of your holiday festivities; especially fabulous for New Year's Eve! Whether you're looking for just an eye-catching accessory or a bold and shiny outfit, don't be afraid to try this trend for yourself too! For an affordable outfit, check out Forever 21 and Express.

Cobalt Blue and Fuschia

My two very favorite colors to wear are definitely cobalt blue (electric blue) and fuchsia (bright pink)! And I think they look great together for a bold look. They're great for nails, clothing, and some jewelry, but I'd try to steer clear of makeup in these color unless you looking for a smoky blue and black eye or a bright, look-at-me pout.

What are your favorite colors to wear?

Daring or Dreadful: Two-Toned/Ombre Hair

Every Friday while I'm watching Fashion Police on E!, I always think to myself how much I love Giuliana Rancic's hair color! Her roots start in a dark brown shade, but as the hair falls, the color lightens until it's basically butterscotch blonde at the tips. Her two-toned hair, also known as ombre, always catches my eye, and I'm loving it!

Giuliana isn't the only celebrity trying out this trend though. Shenae Grimes, Drew Barrymore, Hilary Duff, Jessica Biel, Rachel Bilson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and my favorite, Lauren Conrad, among others have been experimenting with this look. It's almost like they let their roots grow out so that their natural color shows, but the color happens to blend perfectly with the previous color. Have you tried coloring your hair this way, or is your hair naturally like this? I would love to hear for my followers!

What's your take on this hair trend? Daring or Dreadful?

Project Runway Finale: Season 9

I'm a huge fan of Project Runway, and the finale for season 9 was this past Thursday. Instead of the usual three final contestants, four finalists showed their 10 piece collections at New York's Fashion Week. Each of the designers, Kimberly Goldson, Viktor Luna, Anya Ayoung-Chee, and Joshua McKinley, had their own different styles. In my opinion, the designers were pretty evenly matched. They're weren't any collections that I thought were amazing, but each collection had a select few looks that I loved.

In the end, Anya won the competition with her loud, but beautiful, patterns and island style that was inspired by her roots and home in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Despite the doubts of the judges and contestants due to Anya's inexperience with sewing and fashion design, she proved that she's a quick learner and isn't afraid of a challenge. Who were your favorite designers from this season, and who do you think should have won?

Here's some photos from each of the designers' collections. To see their full collections, click here.

Anya Ayoung-Chee (Winner)

Joshua McKinley

Kimberly Goldson

Viktor Luna

My favorite look out of all the collections. From: Viktor's collection...I want this whole outfit, but especially that jacket. It's amazing!

P.S. I changed my blog layout. Give me some feedback! Negative or positive...I would love to hear it :)

One Year Anniversary!

Yayyy! So it's officially been one year since h² fashion first started and I wrote my very first blog post, and I can't believe it! Since then, I've had over 60 posts, about 200 followers, 2 blogger awards, and almost 18,000 page views, and I'm still growing!
Since a year has passed, I'm thinking about changing the look of my blog a bit. I would love to hear any feedback (negative or positive) about what you think would look good. Same goes for my posts - what were your favorites or least favorites from the last year or what other types of things would you like to see me write about? Other than that, I feel like it's been a pretty successful year, and I plan to make the next one even better! :)

Here's some of my favorite posts from the past year!

1. Leggings are NOT Pants - Definitely my favorite post because it's always relevant! This is my number 1 fashion rule!

2. Lauren Conrad & Khloe Kardashian: Hair Dye and WWIB - Two of my favorite celebrities in one post! What could be better :)

3. Help Me Find a Hairstyle - A personal post before I cut 9 inches off this summer. (I still want to dye my tips like Lauren Conrad did before the next time I cut my hair)

And as always, please don't forget to stay in touch!

Daring or Dreadful: Cat Fashion!

I am quite the animal lover, and cats are possibly my favorite animal. Whether they're cute and tiny kittens of fat Garfield characters, they always make me either say "Aww," or laugh out loud. If I'm in a bad mood and you want to make me laugh, show me a picture of a funny cat. That being said, I've recently noticed that cats are making their way onto the fashion scene. I'm not talking animal prints though. I'm talking cartoon cat sweaters, cat outlines, and figures...and I'm kind of loving it.
I bought myself a fun cartoon cat sweater recently from Forever 21; I just couldn't pass it up! But apparently I'm not the only one in love. Check out these pieces from Forever 21 and ASOS and some looks from Lookbook.nu. Are you into cats too?

1. Kitten w/ Glasses Top - Forever 21
2. Dolly Cat Sweater - ASOS
3. Lipsy Cat Print Tailored Playsuit - ASOS
4. Meow French Terry Crop Top - Forever 21

Things I Love: Colored Lace and Sheer Pieces

I've always loved lacy shirts, but since fall is in the air, dyed lace has been hitting the shelves everywhere - and I couldn't be happier! Lace definitely isn't just for winter, with dark colors like black, gray, burnt orange, colbalt blue, and violet lace is completely appropriate for fall and winter. The same goes for a sheer blouse!
Since I live in Florida, it's basically summer all year round, so a simple lace or sheer top with shorts is completely appropriate. Lacy dresses and shorts are great too! Wear a sheer blouse with a leather jacket to make the look edgy yet girly, and the same goes for lace! Adding one of these pieces to any outfit will definitely add a whimsical and girly touch. These pieces are completely affordable and can be easily found. I can't get enough of these two trends! What are your favorite looks for fall?

Check out VivaLuxury's post. She knows how to work a sheer dress!

I went shopping yesterday and dropped $100 at Forever 21. Here's some of my buys :)

Daring or Dreadful: Bra Exposure

So I'm gonna take a chance here and post a picture of myself for a Daring or Dreadful post. I've gotten mixed emotions from my friends about this oufit that I wore out to a bar recently. Some love it and say they don't think they could pull it off themselves, but it looks great on me. Others think it's a little too scandalous. Is it something only the celebs can pull off? What's your honest opinion? I would love to know :)
