Trend Alert: Gold-Plated Accessories

Something that I've seen popping up a lot lately are gold-plated accessories, like jewlery, handbags, shoes  and belts. The little touch of shiny gold adds an interesting and luxe feel to your basics and you can mix and match them with tons of different outfits.

Lupita Nyong'o rocked a gold-plated belt over her emerald green Dior Couture gown at the BAFTA Awards in February.

One celebrity who has been rocking the gold plated belt long before it became a trend is Kim Kardashian. She wears them everywhere from red carpet events to the airport and knows just how versatile this simple accessory can be.

Check out the affordable gold-plated accessories below. The wedges are my favorite!

Are you loving this new trend? Do you have any gold-plated accessories?

Love It Or Leave It: Birkenstocks

Birkenstocks are making a comeback, and no, this is not a joke. Those chunky, strappy, and usually very comfortable sandals have been seen on runway models and fashionista's feet lately. But personally, I just think they're ugly, so I say leave it.

I'm not a big fan, but I think this fad won't last too long. I'll give it a little more than a year, but I just don't see it sticking around for much longer than that, and I don't think it will catch on nearly as much as high-waisted shorts or fringe bikinis. They made a short appearance over the summer in 2013, but probably won't really catch on until this summer.

Growing up in Florida, it's naturally a sin to wear socks with sandals, and that will immediately show a red flag for tourists, but that seems to go along as part of this trend with some Birkenstocks.

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were spotted rocking their Birkenstock inspired leather sandals with socks.

So what do you say about Birkenstock-inspired sandals? Love it or leave it?

Add a Splash of Neon This Spring!

Neon was a huge trend last year and it continues to flourish this spring! If you're a bit nervous to incorporate these bright, neon hues, no fear, adding just a pop of neon is here (okay, that was really cheesy). The easiest way to add a splash of neon to your wardrobe is to start with accessories. Jewelry, handbags and shoes are all great items to have that can add an unexpected bright pop to any outfit.

Don't shy away from trying out this trend for yourself. I promise, it's not as scary as it seems! You can start with accessories and then maybe even work your way up to a fun, spring neon dress! Check out some of my favorites that I found below!

I have these wedges pictured above from Charlotte Russe in both the neon yellow and neon pink. They're perfect for Spring and really add a pop of color to any outfit!

Do you incorporate neon into your spring wardrobe? What are your favorite neon accessories?

Things I Love: Lindsay-Phillips Shoes

In my opinion, you can never have too many shoes. But when you have limited closet space like me (so much that I actually have a dress rack in my brother's room - he's not too happy about that), I'm thankful for any ways to condense the amount of space my shoes take up.
Enter Lindsay-Phillips collection of Switch-Flops and Snap Shoes. Her innovative style of shoe allows you to change either the strap or the jewel of your shoe. This way, you can have tons of interchangeable straps and snap buttons that you can wear a new shoe everyday. I've got two pairs of snap shoes and hoping to buy my third soon.
They're comfortable, cute, and affordable, and there's a variety of styles making it easy for everyone to find a pair that they love. What more could you ask for?! Be sure to check out her website here to see the variety of options and to place your order. You can choose the shoe you like, and then choose a snap or strap to see how they look together too!
